Angela Chen
Research Scientist, MIT Sloan
Angela Chen is leading a subgroup focused on academic research in carbon markets. Her research addresses carbon offset methodologies, including scalability and additionality, and the impact of regulatory standards on their design. She is currently focused on measurement and reporting issues, as well as incentive structures and governance protocols of carbon registries.
An active member of the sustainability management community, Angela has advised UNEP, NIST, and ANSI on standards development. She also founded ProductBio, a venture-backed platform for sustainable consumption and production, improving Scope 3 reporting and shifting $2.6 billion of purchasing power toward "environmentally preferable" products.
Angela holds a B.A. from UC Berkeley, an M.Phil from the University of Cambridge, and is completing a Ph.D. in Environment and Sustainability at UCLA.
